چکیده

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a chronic, incurable disease of the central nervous system that also one most common causes disability among young adults. Despite available pharmacological treatments, patients often require ongoing, supervised rehabilitation. Thus, therapists are constantly searching for new, effective ways improving functional performance and quality life without frequently visiting medical centers. One promising methods remote telerehabilitation enhanced with an immersive augmented reality (AR) interface. Here, we investigated effectiveness using commercially AR in MS patients’ treatment. To evaluate such approach to rehabilitation, conducted study 30 undergoing immunomodulatory In this study, evaluated influence on upper limbs’ hand grip strength efficiency limbs. addition, analyzed level neurotrophins assess potential impact training brain plasticity process. Our results show rehabilitation significantly improves Furthermore, further infer AR-enhanced systems possibility leaving home.

Ghostman: Augmented Reality Application for Telerehabilitation and Remote Instruction of a Novel Motor Skill

This paper describes a pilot study using a prototype telerehabilitation system (Ghostman). Ghostman is a visual augmentation system designed to allow a physical therapist and patient to inhabit each other's viewpoint in an augmented real-world environment. This allows the therapist to deliver instruction remotely and observe performance of a motor skill through the patient's point of view. In a...
